Toad Watch Phase 1 - Pool Party
Phase #1 of the Squamish Environment Society led Western Toad migration surveys. Toad couples are seen in amplexus and tiny black eggs are laid in long strands. Volunteer surveyors collect data by counting male and female toads and measure egg masses. Phase #2 surveys the development of eggs, through tadpoles to toadlet. Phase #3 raises community awareness of toadlet migrations from the lakes into the forest.
