LUNA - a gift from me

As a thank you to all who have been on my mailing list this year, I’m offering free tickets to win a beautiful framed, archival print of LUNA - Portrait of a Barn Owl, signed by me. The original painting is still in San Diego where it was much admired and earned 3rd place in the SDWS People’s choice awards (pretty good for an unfamiliar face from Canada).

Earth, Wind + Fire

A new exhibition has opened at our local Foyer Gallery in the Squamish Public Library featuring talented ceramic artists from the Sea to Sky Potter’s Guild. I was inspired to paint a new bird for their theme ‘Earth, Wind & Fire’. What emerged was a fierce and fiery Firebird or Phoenix - a talisman perhaps for the year to come. The show runs until January 19th, 2026 and the opening reception is on Friday December 5th, 4-8pm. I will be in attendance at the opening and at the Saturday market with my cards and prints.

Parker St Editions

For many years now, I’ve offered small limited print editions of my most successful paintings. It’s a nice way to make my work more accessible and to find new collectors. I’ve worked hard to keep the quality high. Each painting is professionally photographed in high resolution by Alan and daughter at Fidelis (Parker St Studios) and printed with archival inks on a beautiful cotton rag paper. After 2 years of consistent quality we’ve built a print database throughfor my wildbird collection. The question is - should I offer open editions ie unlimited numbers through Parker St Editions at a lower cost? The print quality would be the same, but intials and titles would be digitized rather than hand written on the limited editions. I’m on the fence and would love to know your thoughts. Are artists signatures on prints still important to buyers these days? Would you buy an open edition print for a slightly lower price or would you rather spend more on a signed limited edition?
